Your DMS is not on the list. That is usually fine.
The named DMS integrations are the ones dealers ask for most often, not the limit of what can be read. If your system can drop a scheduled file, it can feed the site.
How it works
- You get your own SFTP account. Your DMS or your DMS vendor drops the inventory file on whatever schedule it already runs, and Scout picks it up from there.
- XML, CSV and pipe-delimited files are all supported, and field mapping is configuration rather than code — the mapping screen is the same one the named DMS integrations use.
- Because mapping is configuration, a new dealer on an unfamiliar system is a setup task rather than a development project.
- A drift check compares what the feed says against what the site is showing and alerts on a real disagreement, which is how a mapping that quietly stopped matching gets found before a customer finds it.
- Staleness is judged on the date of the feed file itself, not on whether the nightly sync ran. A provider that keeps re-serving the same file makes the sync look healthy while your inventory quietly freezes; that is the case the check is built to catch, and anything over 48 hours raises an alert.

What format does the file need to be in?+
XML, CSV or pipe-delimited. Field names do not need to match ours — they are mapped in configuration.
How often should it be sent?+
Whatever your DMS supports. Nightly is typical; more often is fine. The freshness check flags anything that goes quiet for more than 48 hours.
What if a value in the file is something nobody mapped?+
It is recorded as unmapped rather than guessed at, so it can be reviewed and mapped instead of quietly changing a unit’s state on the site.
