Pricing

What an RV dealer website costs

Nobody in this category will tell you what a dealer website costs, and after enough vendor calls that starts to feel like a tactic. It mostly is not — pricing genuinely varies with the size of the operation — but refusing to explain even the shape of it wastes everyone’s time.

So here is the short version. Every dealer gets the whole platform — no tiers, nothing on the feature list held back as an upsell. What sets the price is the size of the group, essentially how many rooftops we are building and running. The media is a separate decision: take the website on its own and keep your agency, or take both and have one team answer for the lead count. We price per dealership rather than off a rate card, so instead of printing a number here that would be wrong for most people reading it, we will give you a real one for your store on the first call.

What moves the number

Included for every dealer

The whole platform, not a tier

  • Outbound marketplace feeds with staleness monitoring
  • A named account rep with same-day turnaround on changes

What you will still pay someone else for

Marketing and media buying

The website is one purchase and the media is another. Most dealers buy both — the case for that is on the Digital marketing page — but the platform runs perfectly well on its own with the agency you already have, and nothing is held back if you keep them. Wheeler Advertising can run the media as a separate engagement, and the case for buying both from one team is on the Website + Marketing page — but it is an option, not part of this.

Managed SEO services

Platform-level technical SEO and on-page SEO for every core page are built in. Ongoing keyword campaigns, link building and content retainers are not — if you need those, keep or hire an agency.

Paid media management

We do not buy your Google Ads or Meta media. Scout gives your agency cleaner conversion data to work with; it does not replace them.

Add-on landing pages beyond the standard build

Your core pages and inventory landing pages are included. Bespoke campaign microsites are scoped separately.

Your DMS, CRM or marketplace subscriptions

Scout integrates with them. The contracts stay yours, which also means you keep them if you ever leave us.

How to work out whether it pays for itself

Do not start from the invoice. Start from three numbers you already have: unique leads per month, your closing rate on web leads, and your average gross on a unit. Multiply them and you have what your website currently contributes.

Our published average is a 2.5× lift in unique leads in the first 30 days, measured against the dealer’s own pre-launch baseline, across nine dealers who switched. The range is 1.6× to 3.4×, and only one of the nine came in below 2×. Apply that lift to your own three numbers rather than to ours — a dealer at 40 leads a month and a dealer at 400 are having very different conversations about the same platform.

Then look at the same thing from the cost side, which is where a website pays for itself least visibly and most reliably. Your media budget buys a certain number of vehicle page views, and what a lead costs you is that traffic divided by the leads it produces. On the platforms dealers move to us from, that has run around 210 vehicle page views per lead. On Scout it runs around 108. Same traffic, same spend, roughly half the cost per lead — and one dealer we can see both sides of went from 204 to 109 under an identical lead definition.

That half is not a discount we are offering. It is arithmetic: hold the traffic constant, convert more of it, and the cost of each lead falls by the same proportion. It is also the part of the bill that does not appear on our invoice at all, because it lands on the media you are already buying.

Bring those numbers to the demo and we will do that arithmetic with you in the open, against a real figure for your dealership rather than a published average. That includes the version where the answer is that you should stay where you are.

Why there is no number on this page
We price per dealership, so a single figure would be wrong for most of the people reading this — and a made-up “from” range would be worse than saying nothing. What we will do is give you a real figure for your store on the first call rather than after three meetings.

Questions

Pricing questions

Can I take the website without the marketing?+

Yes, and plenty of dealers do. The platform is identical either way — there is no version of it that is worse because you kept your agency. What you give up is the clean measurement: when the media and the site are separate vendors, a flat lead count has two explanations and nobody is accountable for it. That is a trade worth making with your eyes open rather than a reason not to buy.

Why will you not publish a price?+

Because a single number would be wrong for most dealers reading this page, and a fake "from $X" range is worse than saying nothing. What we will do is give you a real number on the first call rather than after three meetings.

Is migration included?+

Migrating your existing site — content, inventory and a 301 redirect for every old URL — is part of what we do when a dealer comes across. How much work that is depends on the size of your current site, which is one of the things we establish on the first call.

What is the contract length?+

Ask on the call, and ask every vendor you are evaluating the same question — along with what happens to your site and your domain if you leave. Those answers tell you more about a vendor than any other part of the commercial conversation.

Is a multi-location group quoted per store?+

A group is treated as a group rather than as a stack of separate sites. Locations are one of the factors, but the shape of the arrangement is a group arrangement.

What happens to our data if we leave?+

Your inventory, your leads and your domain are yours. You can export your lead history, and your DMS, CRM and marketplace contracts were never ours to hold.

Are there overage charges on traffic?+

No. Hosting, CDN and bandwidth are included — a good month for your website should not produce a bigger bill.
